It is one of the largest U.S. suppliers of safety products and a notable supplier of ammonia products and process chemicals. Airgas operates through a community of 18,000 associates who foster a culture of safety, innovation, sustainability, and customer success. With Air Liquide’s global presence spanning 60 countries and a workforce of approximately 66,500 employees, Airgas benefits from the extensive resources and global expertise of a world leader in gases, technologies, and services for industry and healthcare. The company serves more than four million customers and patients worldwide, providing vital products and services to diverse markets. Airgas empowers its associates to take initiative, share ideas, and make critical decisions that support operational excellence and foster personal growth.
The Class A Hazmat and Tanker Local Bulk Driver position is based in Tulsa, OK, at the E. 56th St. retail shop. This full-time role involves locally scheduled deliveries with an average of two layovers per month, and pay begins at $29 per hour with eligibility for quarterly bonuses and referral bonuses. Drivers primarily work Monday through Friday with possible alternating weekends on call as business needs require. The position requires safety, professionalism, and technical proficiency as the driver is the "face of Airgas," responsible for transporting bulk liquid gases safely and efficiently between pickup terminals and customers. Duties include loading, unloading, and filling pressurized bulk liquid gases, using a company truck, and interacting directly with customers to maintain service quality.
The role demands physical stamina to climb, bend, kneel, and handle high-pressure hoses and equipment in diverse weather conditions. Compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT), Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and Airgas SAFECOR policies is mandatory, including the consistent use of specialized personal protective equipment (PPE) for handling cryogenic liquids. Drivers conduct safety inspections before and after trips, monitor equipment performance on customer sites, and maintain accurate digital documentation through onboard computers to streamline deliveries and enhance route efficiency.
This position also offers comprehensive family benefits, such as medical, dental, and vision insurance, life and disability insurance, paid child-birth benefits for up to 14 weeks, and a 401(k) retirement plan with company match. Benefits become effective after 30 days of employment and include paid holidays, vacation, sick time, tuition assistance, and parental support initiatives. The role welcomes applicants who demonstrate physical capability, technical proficiency, and a commitment to safe and reliable delivery of hazardous materials. With a strong emphasis on diversity and inclusion, Airgas encourages applications from all qualified candidates and provides reasonable accommodations to ensure accessibility throughout the hiring process and employment.
Joining Airgas means contributing to a dynamic team that values each member’s unique background, skills, and perspectives, creating an engaging workplace that drives innovation and operational success. Drivers gain valuable experience handling specialized delivery equipment, customer service, and safety protocols, with opportunities for career growth within a truly global leader in the industrial gases sector.
