The core responsibility of this role is to safely transport heavy loads, including reinforced concrete pipes and other products, using tractor-trailers capable of carrying at least 80,000 pounds gross vehicle weight. Drivers will deliver primarily to construction sites, ensuring timely and secure cargo handling while adhering to all applicable transportation laws and safety regulations. Duties also include performing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, securing loads with chains and binders, maintaining paperwork such as invoices and bills of lading, as well as routine vehicle maintenance checks and reporting any mechanical issues. Drivers are expected to keep their trucks clean and in optimal operating condition while maintaining accurate electronic logs of their activities.
