The Local and Regional Driver position offers an average weekly pay of $1346, subject to minimum weekly requirements as discussed during the interview process. Dispatch times can start as early as 2:00 AM, providing flexibility and opportunity within the scheduling framework.

The role of the Driver, Hourly CDL-A at Core-Mark is central to the company's mission of delivering essential food and food-related products safely and efficiently across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight assignments. This position requires operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks, ensuring timely deliveries according to predetermined schedules, while strictly adhering to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety policies. The driver not only ensures the physical safe transportation of goods but also maintains accurate records, conducts thorough inspections, and engages professionally with customers, vendors, and colleagues. Key responsibilities include performing mandatory safety checks such as pre and post-trip inspections, securing freight properly, managing delivery documentation, and handling customer payments when required. The driver is also responsible for loading and unloading merchandise, including returns and damaged goods, and maintaining cleanliness and organization in their vehicle and docking areas during and after shifts.   • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment such as two-wheeler and lift gate to move and stack products
  • Physical ability to lift products ranging from 10-35 pounds regularly and up to 60-90 pounds occasionally

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre and post-trip inspections of tractor-truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Inspect tractor-truck and trailer to ensure compliance with company safety standards and report necessary repairs
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately report safety hazards and inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products
  • Move tractor to the loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders following predetermined route delivery schedules
  • unload products and transport items into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks on items, scan and contact supervisor regarding removal of orders according to company policy
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect money where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer and freight are appropriately locked and secured at all times
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, bring to driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork
  • Unload all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers as required
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and enter logs in accordance with Federal DOT, state, and company regulations
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clear and clean as required
  • Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
