Sysco prides itself on fostering personal and professional growth among its employees while delivering outstanding service to its customers. Its culture embraces teamwork, dedication, and upward mobility by developing top internal talent. The Sygma Oklahoma Team is a vital part of this network, focusing on efficient delivery operations that provide unparalleled customer service and maintain high standards in food safety and logistics.

The role available within Sygma Oklahoma is for a Delivery Driver position that offers a career path marked by stability and growth opportunities. This is a full-time role with an attractive earning potential ranging between $82,000 and $85,000 annually, with the potential to exceed $125,000 per year, depending on performance and driving frequency. Delivery Drivers typically manage 2-3 routes per week, working primarily overnight shifts with dispatch taking place from Sunday through Friday. Routes are designed to spend no more than 36 hours out, promoting a balance between efficiency and work-life needs. Delivery Drivers are responsible for safely and efficiently transporting foodservice products via tractor-trailer to various customer locations. The position is demanding and requires attention to detail, excellent customer service skills, and a commitment to upholding company and governmental standards.

The job includes responsibilities such as unloading products using hand carts or by hand, adhering to customer specifications and company standards, and delivering products while maintaining sanitary conditions and food safety protocols. Drivers must maintain accurate paperwork, including DOT logs and vehicle inspection reports, and ensure invoices and damage reports are submitted timely. They develop good relationships with customers by providing polite, clear communication during deliveries. The physical demands of the job are significant, requiring the ability to lift weights up to 50 pounds regularly and push/pull heavier loads using hand carts. Drivers work in various weather conditions, requiring resilience and adaptability. The work environment can involve exposure to wet, hot, cold, or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and sometimes confined spaces. Safety compliance and the ability to operate a large tractor-trailer safely during day or night shifts are crucial.

Candidates for this role typically possess a high school diploma or equivalent and have at least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience or completion of a tractor-trailer driving school. They hold a valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License and are insurable to operate a company vehicle. The role necessitates the ability to communicate effectively in English, comprehend traffic signs and laws, and complete required reports. Knowledge of DOT and Hazmat regulations is important, as are skills in problem-solving, customer communication, and vehicle operation. Drivers must adhere to productivity and safety standards and are expected to manage their work independently without direct supervision.

Sysco supports its employees by offering benefits that include paid training, well-maintained automated equipment, bi-weekly pay, medical, dental and vision insurance, 401k options, and a stock purchase plan. Additionally, drivers receive 10 paid holidays and benefit from a supportive work environment focused on growth and success. Equal opportunity and affirmative action policies are in place to ensure a diverse and inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive. This role provides an excellent opportunity for qualified individuals seeking a rewarding career in logistics and foodservice distribution with a leader in the industry.
