The Driver position at Core-Mark is a vital role responsible for maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the food supply chain by ensuring the accurate and timely delivery of products to customers. This role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate routes, including local deliveries, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight trips. Drivers serve as ambassadors of the company, upholding professional communication standards with customers, vendors, and coworkers while representing the brand positively. Core-Mark drivers operate under strict compliance with Department of Transportation regulations and company safety policies, performing essential vehicle inspections and safety checks to guarantee secure and undamaged deliveries.

In this role, drivers undertake various delivery-related tasks such as thoroughly inspecting cargo for proper loading and security, verifying freight against invoices, adhering to delivery schedules, unloading products, managing return shipments, and accurately completing all necessary paperwork. Drivers are also responsible for handling cash or check payments when required, performing damage control checks, and maintaining cleanliness and order in their vehicles and workspaces. The position offers competitive average weekly pay of $1346, contingent on meeting minimum weekly requirements, and is designed with favorable work schedules including Wednesdays and weekends off and a start time of 5 AM. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 1 year of tractor/trailer driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Compliance with state licensing and certification requirements
  • Clean driving record for past 3 years
  • Successful completion of a road test
  • Current or obtainable DOT health card
  • Physical ability to hand-lift and use equipment for moving freight
  • Ability to work starting at 5 AM
  • Availability to work Wednesdays and weekends off
  • Ability to adhere to DOT regulations and safety guidelines

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent
  • 1+ years tractor/trailer driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A
  • Meet all state licensing and or certification requirements where applicable
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for past 3 years
  • Pass road test
  • Attains or has valid current DOT health card or able to secure one
  • Able to hand-lift and utilize equipment to move product cases/freight of varying sizes and weights

Job Duties

  • Performs all required safety checks including pre/post trip, tractor/truck and trailer inspections according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies
  • Immediately reports all safety hazards and inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Performs a count check of items and checks customer invoices of products that have been loaded
  • Moves the tractor to the loading dock and attach the preloaded trailer as needed
  • Drives to and delivers customer orders according to the predetermined route delivery schedule and unloads products in designated areas
  • Performs damage control checks on items, scans, contacts supervisor about removing orders, verifies delivery and obtains signatures
  • Loads customer returns onto trailer and secures trailer doors
  • Unloads damaged goods and completes necessary paperwork
  • Completes daily record of hours of service and enters log per federal and company requirements
  • Performs general housekeeping duties in tractor and loading dock area and secures equipment at shift end
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
