The role of a Delivery Driver with Core-Mark is vital in maintaining the efficiency and reliability of the food supply chain across the country. This job offers competitive compensation with starting wages between $69,000 and $75,000 annually, including base salary, component pay, and overtime. The benefit of a four-day workweek from Tuesday to Friday, with a set schedule of a 4:30 am start time, ensures a balanced work-life integration. This role involves a local dedicated route with no dispatch duties, providing drivers with routine and predictability in their daily work schedule.

The primary responsibilities include operating tractor trailers or straight trucks safely and timely to deliver food and related products while adhering strictly to Department of Transportation regulations. Drivers are expected to conduct thorough pre and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintain accurate paperwork, unload and load goods securely, and manage customer interactions and orders professionally. The position requires adherence to safe driving practices and participation in general upkeep duties for vehicles and equipment. Ultimately, the driver ensures seamless delivery operations by complying with all safety and regulatory requirements, contributing to the company’s commitment to quality and service excellence.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum 21 years of age
  • 6+ months commercial driving experience
  • Clean motor vehicle report for the past 3 years
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid or obtainable DOT health card
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment for moving products

Job Qualifications

  • meet all state licensing and certification requirements

  • capable of hand-lifting and using equipment to move product cases
  • comfortable handling products ranging from 10 to 90 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations
  • Report all safety issues and/or repairs required
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company driving guidelines and policies
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices of products loaded
  • Complete all required freight paperwork accurately
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer
  • Deliver customer orders according to predetermined route
  • Unload products into designated customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks and contact supervisor about removing orders
  • Verify delivery items with customers and obtain signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and complete necessary paperwork
  • Complete daily hours of service records and logs
  • Perform general housekeeping duties in truck and loading dock areas
  • Secure equipment and complete paperwork at shift end
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
