Job Description

Core-Mark is an industry leader specializing in fresh and broadline solutions tailored specifically for the convenience retail industry. Operating as the largest and most comprehensive marketer of consumer goods across North America, Core-Mark delivers a vast array of products, innovative programs, and solutions to convenience store operators throughout the United States and Canada. The company prides itself on fostering empowerment among its customers, employees, and the wider community. This dedication to service and excellence has positioned Core-Mark at the forefront of the food distribution and consumer goods market, continually expanding its operations and influence within the industry.

The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is essential to maintaining the effective operation of America’s food supply chain. Drivers serve as the company’s face to the customers, not only ensuring timely and accurate delivery of products but also developing and maintaining strong customer relationships. This role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks across intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight trips. It is a position that demands a high level of professionalism, responsibility, and adherence to all Department of Transportation regulations to guarantee the safety and integrity of shipments.

As a driver for Core-Mark, you can expect competitive pay with a guaranteed weekly minimum, which will be discussed during the interview process. This position also offers several valuable benefits from day one, including health and wellness programs, an employee stock purchase plan, 401K employer matching contributions, education assistance, and paid time off, all designed to support your holistic well-being and career growth.

Core-Mark values a safe and inclusive working environment, promoting a culture built on rewards, recognition, and mutual respect. Drivers work a schedule that provides Wednesdays and weekends off, with an early start time of 5 AM, accommodating a balanced lifestyle. Your responsibilities will include thorough pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of your vehicle and trailer to comply with DOT regulations and company standards, careful handling and delivery of food and food-related products, accurate recordkeeping, and excellent customer service. You will be tasked with loading, unloading, securing freight, verifying deliveries, collecting payments when necessary, and maintaining cleanliness and order in the tractor and loading dock areas.

The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL-A, a clean motor vehicle record for the past three years, and at least one year of tractor-trailer driving experience. You must meet all state licensing and certification requirements, pass a road test, and either possess or be able to secure a current DOT health card. Physical capability is also important because you will be handling freight weighing between 10 to 90 pounds using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates.

Core-Mark is committed to equal employment opportunity, providing an inclusive workplace that respects all employees regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, marital status, pregnancy, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic under applicable laws. Joining Core-Mark means becoming part of a dedicated team contributing significantly to the convenience retail industry while growing professionally in a supportive environment.
