This role is for a Delivery Driver position within Core-Mark’s food distribution operations. Delivery Drivers play a critical role in the nation's food supply chain by ensuring that food and food service items are transported safely and delivered timely to customers. The Driver is not only responsible for the physical transportation and delivery of goods but also acts as the face of the company, fostering strong and lasting relationships with customers. The position offers competitive pay with new hire pay increases, starting hourly wages between $66,000 and $72,000 per year including base pay, overtime, and component pay, arranged in a 4-day workweek schedule (Tuesday to Friday). This job works during the day shift with a 4:30 AM start time and focuses primarily on local routes, allowing employees to be home daily. The primary purpose of this role is to operate tractor trailers or straight trucks for intrastate and interstate deliveries, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes as well as drive-and-drop assignments. The driver ensures adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, maintaining vehicle safety standards and following company policies for safe driving. Drivers conduct pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections of vehicles and trailers, report any safety issues or needed repairs, and verify freight loading and securing. Accurate completion of delivery documentation such as product counts and customer invoices is essential. Responsibilities include loading and unloading freight, damage inspection, collecting payments when necessary, and maintaining cleanliness in work areas. Drivers also track their hours of service daily to comply with DOT regulations and perform additional related duties as assigned.
