Serving convenience operators throughout the U.S. and Canada, the company prides itself on empowering customers, employees, and communities to succeed. The company values teamwork, respect, and recognition, providing a supportive work environment where employees can grow and succeed.

The role we are highlighting is for a Transportation position based in Bakersfield, California, focusing on delivering essential goods within a predetermined route schedule. As a tractor-trailer driver at Core-Mark, the employee will be compensated at $24.50 per hour during training, with additional pay for every stop, load, and mile driven during the shift. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, from 3:00 AM to 1:00 PM, combining early hours with regular weekdays to support America’s food distribution system efficiently. This position offers excellent growth opportunities, a safe working environment, and inclusion in a culture that values employee recognition and rewards.

The role requires adherence to all Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, including performing pre-trip and post-trip safety inspections on the tractor-trailer and trailer equipment. Attention to safety is paramount, with drivers expected to report any mechanical safety issues and ensure all freight is properly loaded and secured. The job duties also involve handling necessary route paperwork, performing hook and unhook procedures safely, and parking/storing trailers as required. Drivers will be responsible for collecting damaged goods and customer returns, unloading equipment, and maintaining cleanliness in the tractor and loading dock areas.

Successful candidates should possess a current and valid Class A CDL, be at least 21 years old, and have a clean Motor Vehicle Report for the past three years. Experience of six or more months driving tractor-trailers commercially is essential, with preferred qualifications including foodservice distribution experience and familiarity with onboard computers and handheld scanning systems. Physical capability to handle and move product cases weighing between 60 to 90 pounds using equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates is necessary.
