This opportunity is for the role of Driver, Hourly CDL-A, located in Hayward, California, offering a competitive salary of $29.00 per hour during training, with a transition to a performance-based pay system rewarding every stop, load, and mile driven. In this role, the Driver plays a vital part in securing the food supply chain by ensuring timely, safe delivery of products to customers, reflecting the company’s dedication to excellent service and operational excellence. The Driver, using a tractor trailer or straight truck, will perform local, intrastate, interstate, shuttle, overnight, and drive-and-drop deliveries. A typical schedule includes Monday through Friday shifts with dispatch times between 4:00 AM and 6:00 AM. The position demands responsibility in adhering to Department of Transportation regulations, maintaining vehicle safety and compliance, conducting pre- and post-trip inspections, and effectively interacting with customers and co-workers. The Driver is expected to handle product loading and unloading, perform accurate delivery documentation, verify deliveries through customer acknowledgment, and manage secure load handling and returns.

Key responsibilities also include maintaining clean and safe operating environments, completing daily logs in line with federal and state requirements, and serving as a professional representative of Core-Mark during all customer interactions. This role is essential in strengthening customer relationships and supporting the company’s mission to provide dependable and customer-centered delivery services. The ideal candidate will have a valid CDL-A license, proven experience in tractor-trailer driving, knowledge of food service distribution, and proficiency with technology like onboard computers and scanning systems. Physical requirements include the ability to handle freight weighing from 10 to 90 pounds using equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates.
