The role of Food and Food Service Delivery Driver at Core-Mark is pivotal in maintaining the integrity and efficiency of the country’s food supply chain. This full-time position offers competitive compensation—component pay up to $3,600 bi-weekly, complimented by monthly and annual bonuses. Drivers benefit from a four-day work week starting early at 5:00 AM, supporting a work-life balance while fulfilling essential duties. As a Driver holding a CDL-A license, the individual is responsible for operating tractor trailers or straight trucks on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. The position ensures timely and secure delivery of food and related products, requiring adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) safety regulations and company policies.

Drivers serve as the face of Core-Mark, building lasting relationships with customers through professional communication and reliable service. Responsibilities include comprehensive safety and equipment inspections, securing freight, accurately completing delivery documentation, and managing the loading and unloading process with care and precision. Drivers must have physical agility to handle products ranging from light to heavy weights and operate equipment such as two-wheelers and lift gates. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum one year commercial driving experience
  • Valid CDL-A license and at least 21 years of age
  • Meet all applicable state licensing or certification requirements
  • Clean motor vehicle report for last three years
  • Pass post offer drug screening and background check
  • Pass road test
  • Must have or be able to obtain valid DOT Health Card
  • Physical ability to lift and move product cases weighing between 10 and 90 pounds
  • Ability to operate equipment like two-wheelers and lift gates

Job Qualifications

  • Ability to hand-lift and operate equipment to move and stack product cases weighing 10 to 90 pounds

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre and post trip inspections of tractor, truck and trailer according to Department of Transportation regulations
  • Inspect tractor, truck and trailer to ensure compliance with company safety standards and report any issues
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines
  • Report all safety hazards immediately
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and verify customer invoices for loaded products
  • Accurately complete all paperwork associated with freight
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as necessary
  • Drive and deliver customer orders according to predetermined route and schedule
  • Unload products from trailer and transport to customer storage areas
  • Conduct damage control checks on items, scan and report to supervisor for any order removals
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns onto trailer and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer and freight are locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns and complete necessary paperwork
  • Perform general housekeeping in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailers clean
  • Complete daily hours of service records and log in compliance with Federal DOT and state requirements
  • Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at shift end
  • Perform other related duties as assigned
