The role available at Core-Mark focuses on essential delivery driver positions that are pivotal to maintaining the country’s food supply chain. These drivers operate tractor-trailers or straight trucks to deliver food and food service products both regionally and nationally, including intrastate, interstate, over-the-road, shuttle, and overnight routes. This position is classified as full-time, typically operating Monday through Friday from 4 AM until the shift is finished, featuring competitive compensation ranging from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, depending on experience and route requirements. Drivers must hold a valid CDL-A license and be willing to accommodate one to two overnight stays weekly.

As a delivery driver for Core-Mark, you will be the face of the company, directly building and maintaining relationships with customers by ensuring timely, safe, and dependable delivery of products. Your responsibilities include conducting pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations to guarantee safety and compliance. You will be tasked with securing freight, verifying product counts, and managing delivery paperwork accurately. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum 6 months experience driving tractor trailers
  • Meet all state licensing and certification requirements
  • Clean motor vehicle record for past 3 years
  • Pass drug test and background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid or obtainable DOT health card
  • Ability to lift between 10 and 90 pounds and use delivery equipment
  • Willing to work Monday-Friday 4AM to finish
  • Must be okay with 1-2 overnight stays per week

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Valid CDL-A license
  • Minimum 6 months driving tractor trailers experience
  • Clean motor vehicle report for past 3 years
  • Pass post offer drug test and criminal background check
  • Pass road test
  • Valid current DOT health card or ability to secure one
  • Ability to hand-lift and use equipment to move product cases
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Preferred experience in foodservice distribution industry
  • Experience with onboard computer systems like PeopleNet
  • Experience using handheld scanning systems
  • Prior customer service-related work experience

Job Duties

  • Perform all required safety checks including pre/post trip inspections
  • Inspect tractor/truck and trailer to ensure they meet safety standards
  • Report all safety issues and repairs needed
  • Follow DOT regulations and company safe driving policies
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight
  • Perform count check of items and check customer invoices
  • Complete all required paperwork associated with freight
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer when needed
  • Drive to and deliver customer orders according to route schedule
  • Unload products and transport items into customer storage areas
  • Perform damage control checks and scan items as required
  • Verify delivery of items with customer and obtain proper signatures
  • Collect payments where required
  • Load customer returns and secure trailer doors
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are locked and secured
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns, complete necessary paperwork
  • Maintain cleanliness of tractor, trailers, and loading dock
  • Complete daily record of hours of service and log in accordance with DOT regulations
  • Secure all equipment and complete paperwork at end of shift
  • Perform other duties as assigned
