Job Description

Core-Mark is a leading company in the fresh and broadline solutions sector for the convenience retail industry in North America, delivering a comprehensive range of consumer goods, programs, and services to convenience operators across the U.S. and Canada. With a strong emphasis on empowering customers, employees, and communities, Core-Mark has built a reputation as the largest and most comprehensive marketer in this space. The company is deeply committed to maintaining a safe and inclusive working environment that fosters rewards, recognition, and respect among its associates. Core-Mark offers competitive pay and benefits from day one, including health and wellness options, 401K employer matching, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off, education assistance, and other valuable perks. They nurture personal and professional growth by promoting from within and providing ongoing training opportunities to help employees meet their career aspirations. Employees enjoy a culture of respect and are valued for their contributions in supporting America's food distribution system.

The role being offered is for a Driver with a Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) who will play a critical part in the food supply chain by driving tractor trailers or straight trucks to deliver food and related products efficiently and safely. This position involves local routes with early morning dispatch times between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m., with scheduling designed for a four-day work week between Monday and Friday, making it an attractive option for those seeking work-life balance. The role guarantees a minimum 40-hour work week and offers the potential to earn up to $90,000 annually, plus bonuses for working on off-days.

As the face of Core-Mark to customers, drivers are responsible not only for timely deliveries but also for building strong, positive, and lasting customer relationships. The position requires strict adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and safety protocols, including performing pre- and post-trip inspections and documenting all necessary paperwork accurately. Responsibilities include loading and unloading goods, securing freight, handling customer returns, verifying delivery accuracy, and maintaining cleanliness and safety of the truck and trailer. The driver must be professional in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and vendors, ensuring any inquiries are handled promptly and courteously.

This job demands physical stamina and the ability to safely handle freight of varying weights, often utilizing equipment like lift gates and two-wheelers. The ideal candidate will have prior foodservice distribution experience, maintain a clean driving record, and meet all federal and state licensing requirements. They must also be able to pass drug tests and background checks and hold or be able to acquire a DOT Health Card.

Joining Core-Mark means becoming part of a company that values diversity and equal employment opportunity and that actively works to create a welcoming environment regardless of race, color, gender, age, disability, or any other protected characteristic. This is more than a driving job; it is a chance to be an essential member of a team dedicated to supporting the food retail industry and making a tangible impact in communities nationwide.
