Job Requirements
- Minimum 23 years of age
- two years of commercial driving experience or one year with approved driving school diploma
- pass US Cargo driving test
- obtain hazardous material and tank endorsement within 90 days if applicable
- hold one valid driver’s license from state of residence
- no driving license suspension or revocation within last 36 months
- no convictions for major driving violations in past 36 months
- pass Department of Transportation physical exam
- consent to drug screening and provide negative substance test results from past employers
- no refusal of required tests in last 36 months
- no open FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse violations
- complete all application requirements
- consent to ten-year employment history check
- no multiple recent traffic violations or accidents
- maintain compliance with company and federal regulations
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 23 years of age
- two years of verifiable driving experience or one year with a driving school diploma approved by US Cargo
- must pass a US Cargo driving test administered by an approved trainer
- must have a hazardous material and tank endorsement or obtain within 90 days of employment
- must possess only one valid driver’s license issued by the state of residence
- no driving license suspension or revocation in the past 36 months
- no record of convictions for major violations such as driving under the influence or reckless driving in the past 36 months
- must pass Department of Transportation physical examination
- consent to pre-employment drug screening
- submit negative controlled substance and alcohol results from prior employers for the past three years
- no refusal of alcohol or controlled substance tests in the past 36 months
- no open violations in the FMCSA Drug and Alcohol Clearinghouse
- complete application fully
- consent to a ten-year work history check
- no disqualifying roadside inspection violations in past 36 months
Job Duties
- Drives a commercial vehicle safely while picking up and delivering general freight
- load and unload trailer individually or with dockworkers assistance
- use mechanical freight handling equipment when available and appropriate
- frequent lifting, pulling, pushing, and carrying of freight
- secure freight using strapping or other methods
- inspect vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions
- comply with all federal requirements for transportation of hazardous materials
- drive tractor/trailer in all conditions adhering to federal regulations and hours of service limitations
- maintain compliance records including driver logs
- perform all duties in compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local safety regulations
