As a Yard Jockey Driver at US Foods, you will play an essential role in the efficient movement and management of trailers within the warehouse and distribution yards. This position typically operates during the evening hours Monday through Friday, starting at 4:30 PM until the shift is complete. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating with dispatchers and routers to facilitate the movement of trucks, trailers, and loads between buildings. Your daily tasks will include coupling and uncoupling trailers, staging shuttle trailers for delivery drivers, setting up trailers for backhaul loads, and ensuring that equipment is properly prepared for the following day’s deliveries. You will work closely with warehouse supervisors and mechanics to maintain the safety and readiness of equipment and ensure operations run smoothly. This position requires the ability to lift and move heavy loads between 20 to 80 pounds repeatedly during the shift and the capability to operate in various weather conditions safely.

Job Requirements
- Ability to lift/carry/push/pull 20 to 80+ lbs of product repetitively during each shift
- comfortable driving and working in inclement weather conditions
- must be registered to the FMCSA Clearinghouse
- must be at least 21 years old
- must hold a valid CDL Class A with endorsements and DOT qualifications
- minimum of six months Class A driving experience preferred
- must be able to read and communicate in English

Job Duties
- Communicate with dispatcher/router for truck/trailer and door assignments
- keep assigned equipment coupled
- move trailers between buildings as directed by router or warehouse supervisor
- load, unload, or merge loads between environments
- stage shuttle trailers nightly for shuttle drivers
- set up trailers for backhaul with tractor and empty pallets
- place backhauls in correct door to be unloaded by warehouse
- make sure all equipment is paired and ready for next day’s deliveries
- work with mechanics nightly
- attend all required company meetings
- perform all other duties as assigned
