Job Description
POOLCORP is the world’s leading distributor of outdoor living products, with a comprehensive network of over 420 Sales Centers across 13 countries and a dedicated workforce of more than 6,000 employees. Known for its commitment to pride and professionalism, POOLCORP encompasses multiple subsidiaries, including SCP Distributors, SCP Distributors International, Superior Pool Products, National Pool Tile, Pinch A Penny, and Horizon Distributors. The company specializes in efficient, timely, and reliable distribution services for pool and outdoor living products, making it a top choice for both customers and employees alike. POOLCORP values diversity and inclusivity, proudly supporting bilingual applicants, military personnel, veterans, and their families, among others. It’s an equal opportunity employer emphasizing safety, employee development, and a positive workplace culture.
This specific role is for a CDL Driver position based in Morton, Illinois, at the SPP Peoria facility. This is a full-time, safety-sensitive position with a local delivery focus, meaning drivers will return home every night and work reasonable hours starting at 7:00 am until their daily deliveries are completed. Drivers will earn between $25 and $28 per hour, complemented by benefits and up to $3,500 in annual bonuses based on performance and safety records. The compensation package also includes a host of attractive incentives like paid holidays, paid time off, and a generous 401(k) plan with company match.
As a CDL Driver for POOLCORP, you will play a critical role in delivering outdoor living products safely, efficiently, and professionally to customers in the local region. This includes planning and executing the most effective routes, handling and securing cargo including hazardous materials properly, collecting payments, and maintaining accurate records. You will be responsible for conducting pre-trip and post-trip inspections, ensuring vehicle cleanliness and maintenance, and adhering strictly to Department of Transportation and Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations. POOLCORP’s safety culture ensures that all drivers receive ongoing safety training and support, helping them maintain excellent performance while protecting themselves, their communities, and customers.
In addition to safety, customer service is a key priority in this role. Drivers must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and be able to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision. Experience with operating material handling equipment such as Moffett, Skelly, or air brakes is advantageous but not required. POOLCORP also provides a supportive work environment with educational programs and tuition reimbursement to help drivers grow their knowledge and advance their careers.
Overall, this opportunity is ideal for individuals who want to be part of a stable, well-respected company that rewards dedication, safe driving, and exceptional service. The role emphasizes local deliveries exclusively, allowing drivers to maintain work-life balance and benefit from guaranteed minimum hours even during bad weather. POOLCORP’s culture, benefits, and bonuses make it an excellent choice for CDL Drivers looking for a rewarding career in the outdoor living product distribution industry, backed by a global leader and employer of choice.
