As part of a Fortune 150 company, Core-Mark operates with a strong reputation for empowering customers, employees, and communities, driving over $23 billion in revenue. The company operates numerous distribution centers across the U.S. and Canada, providing a full range of products, programs, and solutions to its diverse customer base. Core-Mark's commitment to growth, safety, and inclusive culture makes it an outstanding place for career development.
The Core-Mark Truck Driver position in Salt Lake City offers a unique and rewarding opportunity for individuals seeking a stable and well-compensated career in the logistics and transportation sector. With a competitive pay rate of $30.50 per hour and a $5,000 sign-on bonus, the role provides financial incentives that recognize the essential work drivers perform in supporting America’s food distribution system. Beyond compensation, employees can enjoy comprehensive Day 1 Health & Wellness benefits, a 401K Employer Matching program, an Employee Stock Purchase Plan, paid time off, and education assistance, among other perks.
Truck drivers at Core-Mark play a pivotal role in the food supply chain by ensuring that food and food-related deliveries reach customers safely, efficiently, and on time. The role involves operating tractor-trailers or straight trucks across various route types, including intrastate, interstate, local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight routes. Drivers are compensated generously, with opportunities to earn upwards of $80,000 annually, and top drivers making over $100,000, reflecting the value placed on their efforts. Additionally, Core-Mark supports work-life balance by granting drivers seven weeks of vacation per year, including every eighth week off for rest, an exceptional benefit in the trucking industry.
The position requires adherence to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations and company safety standards, making safety a top priority. Drivers conduct pre- and post-trip safety checks, ensure freight is properly loaded and secured, and report any safety issues promptly. Communication with customers, vendors, and colleagues is fundamental, as drivers represent the company's face in the field, building strong, lasting connections. Responsibilities also cover accurate paperwork handling, delivery verification, collection of payments where necessary, damage control, and courteous customer service.
This role offers day and night shift schedule options, with dispatch times set between 1:00 AM and 6:00 AM for day shifts, and 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM for night shifts. The job suits individuals who are team players, detail-oriented, and eager to contribute to a safe and respectful work environment. Core-Mark fosters a culture of reward, recognition, and respect, ensuring that employees feel valued and supported in their roles.
By joining Core-Mark as a Truck Driver, employees become part of a company that not only values their hard work but also takes pride in offering extensive benefits, career growth opportunities, and a safe, inclusive workplace culture. The role is fundamental in maintaining the integrity of the nation’s food supply chain and offers a fulfilling career path for those passionate about transportation and logistics.
