Job Description
The hiring company is a well-established Midwest-based carrier with three decades of experience in the trucking industry and a robust fleet comprising 200 trucks. This company stands out due to its stability and commitment to providing reliable freight services. It places a strong emphasis on driver satisfaction by offering consistent miles, dependable freight opportunities, and maintaining modern equipment to make long-haul journeys more comfortable and efficient. The carrier is dedicated to fostering a respectful and supportive work environment, honoring drivers' home time, and embodying values that appeal to a broad spectrum of professional drivers, including veterans and women. Known as a second chance company, it offers opportunities for those seeking to reestablish their careers in the trucking industry as well.
The role available is for Class A CDL OTR (Over-The-Road) drivers interested in high-mileage routes with opportunities to earn top pay. Drivers can expect to earn a competitive income, with annual earning potential reaching six figures, backed by a pay structure that compensates for both loaded and empty miles on the road. Weekly mileage ranges from 2,500 to 3,200 miles, providing drivers with consistent and strong mile logs. Pay per mile is based on experience, and drivers receive additional compensation through detention and layover pay, plus raises determined by safety and performance bonuses. Payments are conveniently processed through weekly direct deposit, supporting financial ease for drivers.
The equipment used is top-of-the-line, featuring 2022 or newer Volvo 760 automatic trucks equipped with spacious 70" x 96" sleeper bunks designed for comfort on extended road trips. Trucks come with amenities such as auxiliary power units (APUs), large refrigerators, flat-screen TV mounts, satellite radio, and advanced weighing and monitoring systems including Right Weigh scales for both truck and trailer, Elite Pass for scales, tolls, and bridges, as well as Motive and Sidekick systems. Maintenance and wash bays are available on-site to ensure equipment remains in excellent condition.
Freight primarily consists of dry van and temperature-controlled goods, with a significant portion (over 75%) involving drop and hook or no-touch freight, minimizing manual load handling and maximizing driver convenience. Routes focus on central U.S. lanes, explicitly excluding NYC, ports, borders, and west of Denver, creating predictable and streamlined routes. Additionally, fueling is facilitated at Pilot and Flying J locations to provide convenience on the road.
Home time is respected, with drivers receiving two full days off every other weekend if operating within the company's designated running area, along with some areas providing additional drive-through time. Benefits include being W-2 company drivers with access to medical, dental, vision, life, and short-term disability insurance, along with a 401(k) plan, paid vacations, and perks allowing passengers and pets. Overall, this role is ideal for drivers seeking a healthy balance of income, comfort, and respect in a reliable and established carrier environment.
