Job Description

In the role of Concierge, you will be the initial point of contact and the first ambassador for everyone who visits or calls the community. Acting as the face and voice of the community, your role is essential in creating a friendly, helpful, and competent first impression which impacts the community’s reputation and the satisfaction of its residents. Your duties will include answering and directing phone calls efficiently, welcoming visitors, adhering to proper sign-in protocols, and maintaining important resident directories securely. You will facilitate communication among residents, staff, and family members with the utmost respect and confidentiality.

This safety-sensitive position also requires you to operate radio communication equipment to assist in resident and staff coordination. The Concierge position demands vigilance, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Attendance and reliability are critical aspects of this job to ensure ongoing operations run smoothly and promptly. Additionally, you will participate in training sessions and meetings to maintain up-to-date knowledge and skills that contribute to your professional growth and community welfare.

Your role will also require physical and mental capabilities such as sitting for extended periods, lifting light weights, performing repetitive hand motions, and clearly communicating both verbally and in writing. You must be able to process complex information and respond appropriately, which makes critical thinking an indispensable skill for this position.

Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years of experience in communications or reception
  • Ability to possess or learn and operate a PBX system and radio base unit within three months of employment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Computer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, Microsoft Office suite

Job Duties

  • Answer all telephone calls that come into the main switchboard and transfer the calls appropriately
  • Greet and welcome all visitors to and vendors of the community and ensure proper sign-in protocol is followed
  • Initiate, listen and respond as necessary to radio transmissions involving residents or staff
  • Maintain the Concierge Resident Directory and Data Sheet
  • Safeguard confidential resident information and do not communicate it to unauthorized individuals
  • Attend all in-service trainings and meetings
  • Ensure regular and reliable attendance
