Job Description
Baker Construction is a leading specialty concrete contractor in the United States, renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and innovation in the construction industry. With decades of experience, Baker Construction has established itself as a trusted partner in delivering complex concrete projects that build the future of infrastructure across the country. The company values its people above all, investing heavily in their professional development and offering a supportive environment where employees can grow their careers meaningfully. As an organization, Baker Construction is dedicated to fostering a culture of integrity, teamwork, and excellence, and it prides itself on being an employer that champions diversity and inclusion. Through its comprehensive training programs, competitive pay, and robust benefits, Baker Construction ensures a rewarding work experience that aligns with both employee aspirations and industry advancements.
The role of Project Manager I at Baker Construction is a pivotal position designed for a motivated individual ready to take on the challenges of managing less complex concrete construction projects with a hands-on approach. This role demands a strong balance of project leadership, financial acumen, and client relationship management. As a Project Manager I, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire project lifecycle—from initial planning and budgeting through pre-construction duties, job transitions, and project execution to final delivery. You will work closely with site superintendents and direct reports to ensure projects meet safety standards, stay on schedule, adhere to budget constraints, and achieve quality benchmarks.
You will act as the primary client representative, fostering strong communication and collaboration to meet project goals and anticipate challenges proactively. The position requires managing all financial aspects, including costs, cash flow, and risk management, ensuring profitable project outcomes while maintaining the highest safety culture established by Baker Construction's Injury and Illness Free (IIF) program. Participation in ongoing training and certification programs is essential to maintain industry knowledge and meet company standards.
This role offers an excellent career opportunity for individuals who have at least a bachelor's degree paired with several years of construction experience or equivalent training and experience. Project Manager I at Baker Construction delivers more than just a job—it offers a path to build a rewarding career in construction management with a company that values grit, ambition, and continuous improvement. If you are driven to achieve results and make a meaningful impact in your career and the built environment, Baker Construction invites you to join their team and make a difference one project at a time.
