Job Requirements
- At least 19 years of age with a high school diploma or GED required
- Demonstrated experience in food service, preferred in child care setting
- Must pass all state required background checks
- Ability to follow established safety and hygiene protocols
- Flexible schedule availability
- Willingness to work collaboratively with childcare staff
- Commitment to supporting children’s nutritional and developmental needs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Prior experience in food service preferred, especially in a childcare setting
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to operate commercial kitchen equipment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of nutrition for children
- Flexibility to assist in other childcare tasks as needed
Job Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals and snacks for children from infancy to school-age
- Have in-depth knowledge of food processing and safety with the ability to operate standard and commercial kitchen equipment
- Maintain the highest standard of food and kitchen hygiene to keep the center's kitchen clean and safe
- Occasionally step in and help out in the classroom when needed
- Adhere to all state and local food safety regulations
- Manage inventory and order kitchen supplies as necessary
- Collaborate with staff to accommodate dietary restrictions and allergies
