Job Description
Bright Horizons is a leading provider of high-quality early education and childcare solutions, dedicated to nurturing the growth and development of children while supporting working families. With a rich history of commitment to family partnership and child well-being, Bright Horizons operates numerous childcare and early education centers across the country. These centers provide safe, supportive, and engaging environments where children can thrive intellectually, socially, and physically. Bright Horizons is known not only for their excellence in early childhood education but also for fostering a workplace culture that values its employees, encourages professional growth, and offers meaningful benefits to support work-life balance and career advancement.
As a Cook at Bright Horizons, you will play a vital role in creating nutritious, family-style meals that support the health, growth, and learning of children enrolled in our childcare centers. Your role goes beyond meal preparation; it involves crafting a warm and predictable routine that contributes to a positive childcare environment. Each day, you will be responsible for planning and preparing balanced meals and snacks that follow approved menus and nutritional guidelines tailored to children's dietary needs. Your attention to detail and care in the kitchen will provide more than just food; it will fuel growing minds and bodies, helping children develop strong foundations for their future.
Working closely with center staff, you will ensure smooth meal service by managing food and supply inventories and placing orders with approved vendors. Maintaining a clean, safe, and well-organized kitchen environment is crucial, as you will adhere strictly to food safety, sanitation, allergy management, and health protocols prescribed by federal, state, and local regulations, as well as company policies. The role requires physical stamina for lifting supplies, standing for extended periods, and performing repetitive kitchen and cleaning tasks. This position requires compliance with immunizations, physical screening, and health and safety training to guarantee the safety of both children and staff.
Bright Horizons offers competitive compensation for this position, with hourly rates ranging between $14.45 and $16.50, commensurate with your experience, education, and certifications. In addition to a meaningful and impactful role, you will gain access to a comprehensive benefits package designed to support your overall well-being. Bright Horizons is not just an employer but a community where you can grow, learn, and be recognized for your contributions. The organization embraces diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring equal employment opportunities without discrimination.
Joining Bright Horizons means becoming part of a team dedicated to transforming the world of work and family. Your role as a Cook will contribute to that mission by providing nourishing meals that support children's success every day. Beyond the kitchen, you will find career development opportunities, including free college degrees and certifications through the Horizons CDA & Degree Program. Whether you are at the start of your career or seeking to advance, Bright Horizons supports your professional journey with the resources and encouragement needed to thrive. This is more than a job; it is an opportunity to make a true difference in children’s lives and the broader community, while growing personally and professionally in a supportive and engaging environment.
