Job Requirements
- Work experience in cooking and/or food preparation for multiple individuals in a childcare facility, preferred
- A willingness to learn and adhere to all current state and local regulations
- Flexibility as to the hours and schedule of work
Job Qualifications
- Experience in cooking and food preparation within a childcare or similar facility preferred
- Knowledge of state and federal food safety and nutrition regulations
- Ability to adapt to changing menus and schedules
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Willingness to assist in classroom activities as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Effective communication skills
- Commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for children
Job Duties
- Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the scope of the school’s menu, budget, and regulatory requirements
- Prepare meals and snacks for children and staff
- Distribute food to the classrooms in a timely and organized manner
- Follow daily menus provided by the Director that comply with USDA, licensing, and health department regulations
- Maintain and track inventory of food and kitchen supplies, placing orders as needed
- Assist in classrooms as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when required
- Adhere strictly to health and safety standards in food preparation and kitchen management
