Job Description

Learning Care is a well-established childcare provider committed to fostering nurturing environments where children and families receive exceptional care and support every day. As an organization, Learning Care acknowledges that its greatest strength lies in its people—the dedicated team members who are passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children. The center offers a supportive workplace culture that prioritizes employee well-being, professional growth, and work-life balance, ensuring that staff feel valued and empowered. At Learning Care, the team benefits from a variety of advantages that include a minimum 50 percent childcare discount, immediate access to healthcare benefits, innovative wellness programs, and a competitive 401(k) plan with company matching contributions. Understanding the importance of flexibility, the company provides schedules that accommodate employees' personal needs, eliminates night and weekend shifts, and offers paid time off alongside the unique opportunity for employees to bring their children to work, creating a family-friendly work environment.

The role of Child Care Cook and Food Specialist at Learning Care is far more than a typical daycare position—it represents a rewarding career path centered on learning, growth, and meaningful daily engagement with children and staff. This position is essential to the successful operation of the center by ensuring the safe, nutritious, and timely preparation of meals and snacks for the children enrolled in the program. The Food Specialist will adhere to prescribed menus and budgets while maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations, including USDA nutrition guidelines and local health department standards. Innovations in menu planning, kitchen safety, and food inventory management are integral to the role, requiring the candidate to be highly organized and adaptable to changing menu requirements. Beyond kitchen duties, the Food Specialist contributes to the overall classroom experience by assisting as an Assistant Teacher or Floater whenever necessary, supporting the holistic development of children. This position offers compensation ranging from $19.69 to $20.46 per hour, dependent on education and experience, with the option for daily or bi-weekly pay. It is a Monday through Friday schedule, further supporting a balanced lifestyle for the employee. Full-time workers enjoy comprehensive health insurance that includes medical, dental, vision, and flexible spending accounts, whereas part-time employees have access to limited medical coverage. Additional benefits such as education assistance, tuition reimbursement, life and disability insurance, 401(k) plans with company match, and employee child care discounts make this an attractive employment opportunity for motivated professionals dedicated to childcare and food service excellence. Learning Care is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace, fostering a respectful and supportive environment for all employees.
