The role of the Child Care Cook, Food Specialist is vital to the health and well-being of the children enrolled in our schools. This position is responsible for the overall food preparation, ensuring meals and snacks are nutritious, timely, and compliant with all relevant state and federal guidelines. As a Food Specialist, you will be expected to create home-style, nutritional meal plans within the framework of the school’s menu and budget, following USDA, licensing, and health department regulations. This role demands a high degree of organization to maintain inventory and order supplies as needed. In addition to cooking responsibilities, the Food Specialist may assist in classrooms, supporting child care staff as an Assistant Teacher or Floater when necessary. This position offers competitive compensation between $19.69 and $20.46 per hour based on position, education, and experience, along with bi-weekly and daily pay options.
