Job Description
Learning Care Group is a prominent leader in the childcare industry, committed to nurturing and supporting children and families every day. As an established childcare company, we understand the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and educational environment not only for the children but also for our dedicated team members. We believe that our people are our most valuable asset, and we strive to create a positive workplace where employees feel supported, appreciated, and empowered.
Our company culture revolves around listening to our employees’ needs and providing them with competitive benefits, flexible schedules, and growth opportunities. Learners at our facilities benefit from a minimum 50% childcare discount, immediate access to comprehensive benefits, innovative health programs, and a 401(k) company matching plan. We value work-life balance by offering flexible schedules with no nights or weekends, paid time off, and even the opportunity to bring your children to work. Through ongoing training, tuition reimbursement, credential assistance, and our Master Teacher Program, we invest heavily in our employees’ career progression and professional development.
The role of Child Care Cook, also known as Food Specialist, goes beyond simply preparing meals. This position is critical to fulfilling our mission of fostering the healthy growth and development of children enrolled in our programs. The Food Specialist is responsible for the overall food preparation, ensuring all meals and snacks meet the nutritional standards set forth by the USDA, as well as state and local licensing and health department regulations. The ideal Food Specialist is someone who is at home in the kitchen, capable of adapting menu plans within the guidelines of the school’s menu, budget, and regulatory requirements.
This role requires creativity and organization to manage inventory, order necessary food and supplies, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen. It also requires flexibility to assist in classrooms when needed, acting as an Assistant Teacher or Floater, showcasing a willingness to engage with children and the educational team directly. This position demands adherence to strict health and safety protocols and a passion for providing nutritious, home-style meals in a timely manner that aligns with the school’s meal and snack schedules.
Joining Learning Care Group as a Food Specialist means becoming part of a nurturing community where every day is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully. It is not just a job; it is a rewarding journey where you grow, develop your skills, and thrive in a supportive environment dedicated to the well-being of children and families.
