Job Requirements

  • Proof of six child care units or R.O.P. certificate in child development
  • proof of high school graduation or equivalent
  • resume
  • state required immunizations including annual influenza, pertussis every 10 years, and MMR once in a lifetime

Job Qualifications

  • At least an eighth grade education
  • some experience caring for groups of children is desirable
  • attendance, participation, or additional education in pre-school parent education programs is desirable
  • ability to work effectively with pre-school children
  • ability to speak Spanish is desirable
  • ability to work cooperatively with parents
  • ability to keep accurate records
  • ability to follow written and oral instructions

Job Duties

  • Assist in the supervision of children as assigned
  • assist the teacher in providing an educational program
  • confer with the teacher regarding special individualized activities
  • keep physical facilities clean and in order as necessary
  • help with training of volunteer aides
  • attend staff development sessions
  • assist with parent workshops and parent involvement activities
