Job Requirements
- Proof of six child care units or R.O.P. certificate in child development
- proof of high school graduation or equivalent
- resume
- state required immunizations including annual influenza, pertussis every 10 years, and MMR once in a lifetime
Job Qualifications
- At least an eighth grade education
- some experience caring for groups of children is desirable
- attendance, participation, or additional education in pre-school parent education programs is desirable
- ability to work effectively with pre-school children
- ability to speak Spanish is desirable
- ability to work cooperatively with parents
- ability to keep accurate records
- ability to follow written and oral instructions
Job Duties
- Assist in the supervision of children as assigned
- assist the teacher in providing an educational program
- confer with the teacher regarding special individualized activities
- keep physical facilities clean and in order as necessary
- help with training of volunteer aides
- attend staff development sessions
- assist with parent workshops and parent involvement activities
