Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 4 years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary or related area
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
  • 2 years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary or related area
  • Ability to manage kitchen utility staff and operations
  • Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with team and management
  • Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED with 4 years related experience
  • OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 2 years related experience
  • Proven leadership skills managing kitchen utility or similar operations
  • Ability to supervise and motivate staff
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and loss prevention practices
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with inventory management and operating budgets
  • Ability to enforce policies and maintain workplace standards
  • Demonstrated commitment to exceptional guest service and employee development

Job Duties

  • Manage daily kitchen utility operations including dish room, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance
  • Supervise kitchen employees not engaged in cooking such as dishwashers and helpers
  • Order and manage supplies ensuring availability of equipment, tools, and uniforms
  • Schedule events and employee work shifts
  • Control inventories of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor and report shortages
  • Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with standards
  • Enforce proper cleaning routines and use of dish room machinery
  • Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation standards, and applicable laws
  • Provide leadership and direction to kitchen team to achieve operational goals
  • Supervise employees, provide training, and conduct performance feedback
  • Manage department expenses to achieve budget goals
  • Promote guest satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Handle recruitment, hiring, and disciplinary procedures in accordance with policies
  • Maintain open communication with executives, peers, and subordinates
  • Investigate employee accidents and enforce loss prevention policies
