Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- 4 years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary or related area
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related major
- 2 years experience in procurement, food and beverage, culinary or related area
- Ability to manage kitchen utility staff and operations
- Knowledge of food handling and sanitation standards
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with team and management
- Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED with 4 years related experience
- OR 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration or related field with 2 years related experience
- Proven leadership skills managing kitchen utility or similar operations
- Ability to supervise and motivate staff
- Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and loss prevention practices
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience with inventory management and operating budgets
- Ability to enforce policies and maintain workplace standards
- Demonstrated commitment to exceptional guest service and employee development
Job Duties
- Manage daily kitchen utility operations including dish room, night cleaning, back dock cleaning and maintenance
- Supervise kitchen employees not engaged in cooking such as dishwashers and helpers
- Order and manage supplies ensuring availability of equipment, tools, and uniforms
- Schedule events and employee work shifts
- Control inventories of food, equipment, smallware, and liquor and report shortages
- Inspect supplies, equipment, and work areas to ensure compliance with standards
- Enforce proper cleaning routines and use of dish room machinery
- Ensure compliance with food handling, sanitation standards, and applicable laws
- Provide leadership and direction to kitchen team to achieve operational goals
- Supervise employees, provide training, and conduct performance feedback
- Manage department expenses to achieve budget goals
- Promote guest satisfaction and continuous improvement
- Handle recruitment, hiring, and disciplinary procedures in accordance with policies
- Maintain open communication with executives, peers, and subordinates
- Investigate employee accidents and enforce loss prevention policies
