- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Availability to work from 7:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during summer sessions
- Prior teaching or culinary experience preferred
- Ability to commit to full session dates
- Strong organizational skills
- Capacity for effective classroom management
Job Qualifications
- Hold a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL)
- Experience in teaching or culinary education preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage high school students in a summer school environment
- Knowledge of culinary arts and food safety
- Capability to manage classroom and lesson planning
- Commitment to student success and inclusivity
Job Duties
- Prepare and deliver culinary arts lessons according to curriculum guidelines
- Supervise and support students during classes
- Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
- Assess and document student performance and progress
- Collaborate with summer school staff and administration
- Manage classroom materials and supplies
- Communicate effectively with students and parents
