Job Description
Our establishment is a vibrant and innovative new modern Mexican restaurant concept located in Laguna Hills, CA, committed to bringing authentic street food flavors to Orange County with a contemporary twist. This fresh culinary venture prides itself on blending traditional Mexican street food techniques with modern presentation and ingredients, creating an exciting dining experience for guests who value authenticity and innovation alike. Our restaurant offers a unique atmosphere where passion for quality and creativity drives everything we do, from menu development to kitchen practices and customer service. We aim to become a popular destination for both local residents and visitors, emphasizing a high-quality, flavorful menu with fresh ingredients and bold flavors prepared in a fast-paced environment that values speed without sacrificing quality.
We are currently seeking a Chef / Kitchen Manager who will play a critical leadership role in driving culinary excellence and operational efficiency within the kitchen. This full-time role based in Laguna Hills involves collaborating closely with the ownership team to develop and finalize an innovative and fresh menu that resonates with the modern Mexican concept. The ideal candidate will be deeply knowledgeable in Mexican cuisine and possess robust skills in kitchen management, staff leadership, and operational oversight. As a Chef / Kitchen Manager, responsibilities include managing all kitchen operations such as food preparation, quality control, ordering supplies, scheduling shifts, and ensuring compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations. The role demands a hands-on leader who can hire, train, and supervise kitchen staff to maintain a positive and productive workplace culture. Effective management of food and labor costs is paramount to sustaining the business's profitability while maintaining high standards of food quality.
This position is perfect for someone with at least two years of experience managing kitchens in high-volume fast casual or quick-service restaurant (QSR) environments, particularly with a strong background in Mexican cuisine. Being ServSafe certified and bilingual in English and Spanish is highly preferred to enhance communication within the diverse kitchen team. Proven leadership qualities, excellent communication skills, and organizational abilities will help the successful candidate thrive as they work to maintain a smoothly operating kitchen that consistently delivers outstanding food. The salary is competitive and commensurate with experience, with additional benefits including performance bonuses, free meals during shifts, paid vacation, and opportunities for career advancement as the restaurant grows. Candidates interested in becoming a key part of an exciting new restaurant concept with plans for future expansion are encouraged to apply by submitting their resume and a brief introduction. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute creatively and administratively to a developing brand making waves in the Orange County dining scene.
