The organization prides itself on its core values which include integrity, reverence for the individual, teamwork, and a passion for excellence. These values guide every aspect of service they offer, ensuring that residents receive compassionate and personalized care. The facility offers multiple levels of care including adult home, enhanced care, and special needs care, making it a versatile and supportive community for seniors with varying needs.
As an employer, Heathwood Assisted Living values its team members and offers a competitive compensation package. The salary for the Chef / Cook Supervisor position ranges between $24.10 and $24.60 per hour, reflecting the company’s dedication to rewarding skilled professionals. Employees benefit from health, dental, and vision insurance with a remarkably short waiting period of under 30 days, no-cost life insurance, generous paid time off (PTO) and sick time, free uniforms, free on-site parking, and convenient direct deposit. This comprehensive benefits package underscores Heathwood’s commitment to the well-being of their staff, recognizing that a happy and supported team is essential to providing excellent resident care.
The role of Chef / Cook Supervisor at Heathwood Assisted Living is critical in ensuring the health and satisfaction of its residents through careful and attentive meal preparation and kitchen management. This role involves direct participation in the preparation of food for resident service, which means the supervisor needs to have a thorough understanding of recipe use, production levels, and quality control standards. Not only is the individual responsible for preparing the right quantities of food for each meal, but they must also ensure all safety and sanitation standards are rigorously maintained. This includes proper serving temperatures and timing to guarantee food safety and quality.
In addition to food preparation, the Chef / Cook Supervisor is tasked with supervising wait staff and dishwashers during assigned shifts. This supervision ensures that all meal-related tasks are completed efficiently and correctly, contributing to a smooth dining experience for residents. The supervisor must also assist in the care, maintenance, and cleanliness of all kitchen equipment, which is essential in upholding the kitchen’s operational standards and minimizing downtime or sanitation concerns.
This position requires a high level of responsibility and leadership, as the supervisor plays a key role in guiding the kitchen team and maintaining an environment that promotes safety, quality, and care. The role is ideal for candidates who are not only skilled cooks but also capable of managing staff, upholding stringent health standards, and fostering a team atmosphere where every member contributes positively. If you are passionate about culinary arts and eager to make a real difference in the lives of elderly residents through nutritious, well-prepared meals, Heathwood Assisted Living provides a rewarding work environment that supports your professional growth and personal fulfillment.
