The role being offered is that of a Cook within the Autograph Collection, a position that plays a crucial role in maintaining the high culinary standards and guest satisfaction synonymous with Marriott's luxury hotel brands. This position involves preparing ingredients through portioning, chopping, and proper storage, as well as handling fresh fruits and vegetables with care. The Cook is responsible for weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, as well as following recipes and quality standards to prepare and cook foods to precise presentation and safety guidelines. Competency in operating kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves, and fryers is essential to this role. A key responsibility is ensuring food is cooked thoroughly and maintains a high quality throughout preparation.
In addition to food preparation, this role demands rigorous adherence to hygiene and safety protocols, including washing and disinfecting kitchen tools and work areas, monitoring appliance temperatures, and complying with all company security policies. The Cook is expected to maintain a clean and professional appearance and uphold the confidentiality and security of the company’s proprietary information. Effective communication and teamwork are critical, as the role requires collaboration to meet shared goals and a customer-focused mindset. The physical demands include extended periods of standing, bending, lifting objects up to 25 pounds, and other actions necessary to support the kitchen operations.
Ideal candidates will have at least one year of relevant work experience in a culinary or food preparation environment and a high school diploma or GED equivalent. While supervisory experience is not required, being a team player with a positive attitude towards workplace safety and quality standards is mandatory.
