The position available is that of a Chef supporting residential treatment programs. This is a crucial role designed to enhance the therapeutic environment through the preparation and provision of nutritious, balanced meals that promote the physical and emotional well-being of clients. The ideal candidate will be adept at menu planning that respects dietary, medical, and cultural restrictions and will seamlessly integrate within a structured healthcare setting. Responsibilities include managing kitchen operations to maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, collaborating closely with clinical teams, and contributing positively to the client recovery experience. This role offers a fixed salary of $24 per hour and is integral to the ongoing success of the residential treatment programs at both Paradigm Treatment Centers and Ridge RTC. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in a culinary role preferably in healthcare or residential settings
- Knowledge of nutrition and dietary restrictions
- Ability to manage kitchen operations and inventory
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Food handler certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends
- Adherence to confidentiality and professional boundaries
Job Qualifications
- Prior experience as a chef or cook in a residential healthcare hospitality or institutional setting preferred
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper kitchen sanitation practices
- Ability to prepare meals for larger groups while maintaining quality and consistency
- Experience accommodating dietary restrictions e g allergies vegetarian vegan medical diets
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Reliable punctual and able to work independently
- Comfortable working in a behavioral health or residential treatment environment
- Food handler certification required or willingness to obtain
Job Duties
- Plan and prepare daily meals for residential clients and staff ensuring consistency quality and nutritional balance
- Develop menus that accommodate dietary needs allergies and medical or cultural restrictions
- Maintain a clean organized and sanitary kitchen in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Order receive and properly store food and kitchen supplies
- Monitor food inventory and manage costs to stay within budget guidelines
- Collaborate with clinical and operations teams to support client needs and program schedules
- Follow all food safety sanitation and infection control protocols
