Job Description
New Dawn Treatment Center has been a cornerstone of mental health and substance abuse treatment in California and Nevada for over 30 years. The organization is deeply committed to evidence-based practices and a person-centered approach, ensuring that every individual receives transformative care tailored to their unique needs. Serving over a thousand individuals annually across its 10 locations, New Dawn Treatment Center prioritizes clinical excellence, compassionate service, and community wellness. Their dedication extends beyond clinical care to supportive services that promote recovery and sustainable wellness for those affected by mental health and substance abuse challenges.
New Dawn Treatment Center is currently seeking a dedicated part-time chef to join the team at their Annabelle facility. This role is instrumental in supporting the well-being and recovery of clients by providing nutritious and properly prepared meals. The chef will be responsible for implementing menus, coordinating food preparation, and ensuring that meals served align with approved dietary guidelines. Working Saturdays and Sundays from 7:30am to 5:30pm, this role offers an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the supportive environment at New Dawn Treatment Center while working within a stable, compassionate organization.
The ideal candidate for this position should have a strong foundation in food preparation and kitchen operations, combined with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with other staff members. The part-time chef will plan and prepare foods according to established policies, dietary guidelines, and recipes, ensuring that both regular and therapeutic menus are properly executed. Attention to detail in following recipes and portioning procedures is critical, as is maintaining high standards of food safety and cleanliness. The role also involves managing inventory, inspecting food products on delivery, and keeping kitchen equipment in optimal condition.
This position is perfect for culinary professionals or experienced kitchen staff who are passionate about supporting health and recovery through quality nutrition. The part-time schedule supports work-life balance while providing steady weekend hours in a respected healthcare organization dedicated to making a positive impact on its community. Working at New Dawn Treatment Center offers the unique fulfillment of using culinary skills to enhance client outcomes in a healthcare setting that values person-centered care and clinical excellence.
