The Chef position at WarHorse Gaming Omaha is a critical culinary role supporting the Executive Chef in managing daily kitchen operations efficiently. This role ensures that all menu items are prepared following the highest quality and consistency standards, aligning with the company’s mission to provide exceptional dining experiences to its guests. The Chef supervises kitchen staff, coordinates culinary activities, manages food costs, and plays an integral part in menu development, including designing specialty and large party menus. Compensation for this role ranges from $26.00 to $30.00 per hour, dependent on experience. Job Requirements

  • Must be 19 years of age or older
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Nebraska Gaming License
  • ServSafe Certification required
  • Food Handler Certification required
  • TIPS Alcohol Certification required

Job Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of kitchen experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities
  • Knowledge of kitchen equipment, food preparation techniques, and safety standards
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills

Job Duties

  • Support and uphold the mission, vision, and values of WarHorse Gaming LLC
  • Assist in managing day-to-day kitchen operations, including task delegation and staff supervision
  • Ensure all food is prepared according to established recipes, specifications, and presentation standards
  • Monitor food quality, consistency, and portion control
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef on menu development, including large party and specialty menus
  • Train, coach, and develop culinary team members
  • Assist in scheduling, performance management, and staff development
