We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our school food service program located in the Metuchen, NJ area. Job Requirements

Ability to obtain proper documentation to work in schools
able to pass a chef test
able to lift 50lbs
availability to work Monday through Friday, 7 hours daily
flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends
valid ServSafe manager certificate

Job Qualifications

Chef experience required
K-12 culinary experience preferred
valid ServSafe manager certificate
strong attention to detail
creativity with presentation and new menu ideas
ability to pass a chef test
effective communication and training skills

Job Duties

Prepare all catering events for the school
some travel may be involved
able to work an occasional catering on a week night and weekend
maintain ServSafe manager certificate
able to lift 50lbs
provide training to staff on compliance, presentation, and food quality
partially responsible for inventory and food orders
