Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3 to 5 years of culinary experience
- 2 to 3 years of formal culinary education
- 1 to 3 years of management or leadership experience
- Culinary degree (2 year degree acceptable)
- ServSafe Manager Certification
- Strong communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Job Qualifications
- Requires at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related culinary role
- Requires 2 to 3 years of culinary education beyond high school
- formal culinary training required
- Requires at least 1 to 3 years of management or leadership experience, including direct oversight of hourly employees
- Culinary degree required (2 year degree acceptable)
- Advanced knowledge of culinary principles, food production, and safe food handling practices
- Demonstrated experience managing people, processes, and operational challenges in a fast paced environment
- Strong oral, written, and reading communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook required
- Excel preferred for scheduling and operational reporting)
- ServSafe Manager Certification required
Job Duties
- Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
- Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
- Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
- Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
- Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
- Oversee special catering events and offer culinary instruction or demonstrate culinary techniques
