Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5 years of culinary experience
  • 2 to 3 years of formal culinary education
  • 1 to 3 years of management or leadership experience
  • Culinary degree (2 year degree acceptable)
  • ServSafe Manager Certification
  • Strong communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications

Job Qualifications

  • Requires at least 3 to 5 years of experience in a related culinary role
  • Requires 2 to 3 years of culinary education beyond high school
  • formal culinary training required
  • Requires at least 1 to 3 years of management or leadership experience, including direct oversight of hourly employees
  • Culinary degree required (2 year degree acceptable)
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary principles, food production, and safe food handling practices
  • Demonstrated experience managing people, processes, and operational challenges in a fast paced environment
  • Strong oral, written, and reading communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook required
  • Excel preferred for scheduling and operational reporting)
  • ServSafe Manager Certification required

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and offer culinary instruction or demonstrate culinary techniques
