Known for its commitment to quality, innovation, and community engagement, SAGE Dining Services partners with private schools to offer chef-inspired menus made from scratch, emphasizing fresh ingredients, culinary creativity, and exceptional service. The company prides itself on fostering a positive, collaborative work environment where culinary professionals can thrive, grow, and make a meaningful impact on the communities they serve.
SAGE Dining Services is currently seeking a dynamic Chef Manager to join the team at a premier private day school in Baton Rouge. This full-time leadership role offers a competitive salary of $60,000 per year and presents an exciting opportunity to lead daily culinary operations while elevating the dining experience for students, faculty, and staff. As a Chef Manager, you will work closely with the Director to drive excellence in every aspect of food service, from menu innovation and meal production to high-end catering and event execution.
This position requires a highly organized, solutions-oriented culinary professional with a strong background in upscale catering and high-volume banquet management. You will oversee cycle menu planning, production, inventory control, costing, HACCP compliance, and P&L management with precision and creativity. Beyond operations, you will play a pivotal role in mentoring and coaching your culinary team, promoting a culture of "Unreasonable Hospitality" by creating exceptional, memorable dining experiences defined by genuine care and meaningful community connections.
As a hands-on leader, you are expected to inspire and guide your team, lead by example on safety protocols, and deliver outstanding customer service that reflects the values and mission of SAGE Dining Services. You will be responsible for managing all facets of food service operations, including ordering, inventory, staffing, and quality standards, while also spearheading visually appealing menus and special Limited Time Offers (LTOs) that keep the dining experience exciting and fresh.
SAGE Dining Services prioritizes employee growth and development, providing a collaborative environment with ample resources, training programs, and opportunities for advancement. The company also offers comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with company match, and support through the SAGE Foundation, which provides academic scholarships and disaster assistance to employees and their families.
Joining SAGE Dining Services means becoming part of a mission-based company that values teamwork, innovation, and community impact. If you are passionate about food, hospitality, and leadership, eager to bring fresh culinary trends to life, and committed to delivering extraordinary food and guest experiences, this Chef Manager role at a prestigious Baton Rouge private school is the perfect opportunity for you to grow your career and make a lasting difference.
