This particular role, the Chef Manager, offers a fantastic opportunity to join a growing culinary team within Morrison Living. The position is a full-time role with a salary range of $75,000 - $85,000 and features a typical schedule from Monday to Friday without requirements for weekend or major holiday shifts, promoting a healthy work-life balance. The Chef Manager will assume full culinary management responsibility for the food service operation. This includes overseeing inventory, ordering, and receiving tasks, ensuring that the kitchen runs efficiently and sustainably. Proficiency in financial responsibility such as Profit and Loss (P&L) accountability and experience working within contract-managed service environments will be highly valued. The role demands a hands-on leader with a passion for sustainability who excels in menu development, cost control, purchasing, and effective inventory management, with a strong preference for sourcing and utilizing local food products.

The successful candidate will be passionate about food quality, production, sanitation, cost controls, and presentation, ensuring an exceptional dining experience for patrons. They will also be knowledgeable about food safety standards, including HACCP principles, and ideally be ServSafe certified. This is an excellent role for an experienced culinary professional with at least three years of culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining, or restaurant settings. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent
  • at least three years culinary management experience
  • knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
  • ability to manage inventory, ordering, and receiving
  • proficiency in menu development and cost control
  • experience in contract-managed food service preferred
  • passion for sustainability and local sourcing
  • excellent leadership and communication skills

Job Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of HACCP
  • three years culinary management experience in contract foodservice, fine dining or restaurant environment
  • extensive knowledge of food and catering trends
  • experience with exposition cooking
  • understanding of food cost controls, production, sanitation, and presentation
  • knowledge of P&L accountability
  • ServSafe certification is a plus
