The Chef Manager role at Aramark is a key leadership position that combines culinary expertise with team development and operational management. Reporting directly to the General Manager, the Chef Manager plays a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of food quality, safety, and customer service. This position requires a hands-on approach, working closely with kitchen personnel to train, supervise, and coordinate all culinary activities. The Chef Manager is responsible for recipe development, standardizing production methods, menu planning, and price setting to meet both customer expectations and budget requirements. Safety protocols and kitchen sanitation are top priorities, with the Chef Manager overseeing proper equipment maintenance and safe operational procedures.

Additionally, the Chef Manager supports special catering events and may provide culinary instruction or demonstrations to staff as needed. The role also involves monitoring food consumption to requisition or purchase ingredients efficiently and contribute to cost control. Job Requirements

  • Requires 2-3 years of experience in a related position
  • Requires 2-3 years of post-high school education or equivalent experience
  • Culinary degree preferred
  • Requires advanced knowledge of the principles and practices within the food profession
  • Requires experiential knowledge of management of people and or problems
  • Requires oral, reading and written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise or coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation and maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and or demonstrates culinary techniques
