Aramark is currently seeking a talented and experienced Chef Manager to join their team at Sisters of Charity Hospital in Buffalo, New York. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $80,000 annually, reflecting Aramark’s commitment to rewarding skilled professionals who contribute to their mission. The Chef Manager will play a pivotal role in the hospital’s food service operations by not only managing culinary production but also by developing innovative and appealing menu solutions that satisfy diverse patient, retail, and catering needs.

The role requires overseeing multiple points of food service operations including patient meals, retail dining, and catering events. The Chef Manager will be responsible for estimating food consumption needs, purchasing and requisitioning supplies, and ensuring that all culinary activities meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and presentation. Leadership is a key component of this position, as the Chef Manager will train and supervise kitchen personnel, fostering a team-oriented work environment that emphasizes culinary excellence and exceptional service delivery.

The successful candidate will bring at least 2 to 3 years of culinary management experience, preferably with exposure to healthcare food service, to ensure they can maintain compliance with industry standards such as SERV Safe certification and HACCP knowledge. A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience is required, and a Culinary Arts degree is desired to support the technical expertise necessary for this role. Prior experience with production systems will be considered an advantage.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

Job Duties

  • Manages production for 3 points of service: patients, retail and catering
  • Train and manage kitchen personnel and supervise/coordinate all related culinary activities
  • Estimate food consumption and requisition or purchase food
  • Select and develop recipes as well as standardize production recipes to ensure consistent quality
  • Establish presentation technique and quality standards, and plan and price menus
  • Ensure proper equipment operation/maintenance and ensure proper safety and sanitation in kitchen
  • Oversee special catering events and may also offer culinary instruction and/or demonstrates culinary techniques
