Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • previous restaurant kitchen experience
  • high school diploma or GED
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to be away from home for 4-8 days at a time
  • ability to perform physically demanding tasks
  • willingness to work on call and variable schedules during extraboard period
  • pass pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • comply with federal safety-sensitive employee regulations

Job Qualifications

  • Previous work experience in a restaurant as a chef or line cook
  • high school diploma or GED
  • excellent written and oral communication skills
  • ability to work full time with variable schedules
  • knowledge of FDA sanitation regulations and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Prepare full-course meals for Amtrak passengers
  • assist with all phases of meal preparations
  • wash all items used in the preparation of meals in compliance with FDA sanitation regulations and standards
  • complete all end-point duties
  • assist with loading, unloading, verification, handling and storage of all food and service products
  • maintain cleanliness of kitchen and dining car lower level
