Job Description

This opportunity is with a reputable restaurant looking to hire a Head Chef / Kitchen Manager who will play a critical role in overseeing the culinary operations of the kitchen. The restaurant is committed to maintaining the highest standards in quality, safety, and sanitation, providing an exceptional dining experience to its guests. This is a full-time position with a competitive monthly salary of $400 plus a parking allowance or reimbursement, subject to valid license and registration, and adherence to parking policy. The compensation package includes an annual bonus potential of up to 10,000 dollars paid quarterly, comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage, and life insurance worth 25,000 dollars available to employees who enroll in dental benefits. Additionally, the position offers a 401K plan (without a current match), paid holidays, vacation time, and state-mandated sick leave, with eligibility for benefits kicking in at 60 days.

As the Head Chef / Kitchen Manager, this role requires leadership and hands-on management of all kitchen operations, including staffing, food preparation, inventory, and compliance with health and safety regulations. The successful candidate will be expected to maintain a Department of Health (DOH) score of 95 or higher, hold a current ServeSafe or equivalent Qualified Food Operator (QFO) certification, and ensure all kitchen processes support the high standards of the restaurant. The manager will also collaborate closely with the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) managers to consistently deliver excellent guest experiences. This position demands strong organizational skills, the ability to manage labor and schedules effectively, and expertise in food costing and inventory control to reduce waste and maximize quality and profitability. The Head Chef / Kitchen Manager will oversee kitchen equipment maintenance and repairs, directly contribute to daily kitchen tasks including line cooking, food preparation, and quality control. Job Duties

  • Direct and manage kitchen operations maintaining standards of quality safety and sanitation
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety codes maintain DOH score of 95 plus
  • Hold and maintain ServeSafe or equivalent QFO certification
  • Promote a safe productive and positive work environment
  • Recruit hire train and develop BOH staff at all levels
  • Manage labor and scheduling to meet business needs and labor standards
  • Oversee ordering production inventory and waste to achieve food cost targets
  • Maintain ingredient quality and freshness while minimizing spoilage and waste
  • Inspect and maintain kitchen equipment arrange repairs replacements as needed
  • Partner with FOH BOH managers to deliver excellent guest experiences
  • Maintain kitchen budget and complete period-end inventory
  • Perform hands-on duties as needed line cooking prep and quality control
