Job Requirements

  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • ability to stand, kneel, sit, and walk for extended periods
  • ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen equipment, chairs, and tables
  • availability to work nights and weekends
  • part-time, per diem availability
  • willingness to wear CSCA approved uniform
  • required background check clearance

Job Qualifications

  • Culinary school graduate or minimum 5 years professional food service experience
  • effective oral and written communication skills
  • ability to pass a CORI background check
  • demonstrated ability to teach culinary skills in a hands-on environment
  • experience working with diverse student groups
  • strong multitasking and organizational abilities
  • customer service orientation

Job Duties

  • Set up kitchen and lecture space and perform inventory check before class
  • deliver up to 30 minutes of classroom lecture and 3.5 hours of hands-on cooking instruction
  • provide direction and feedback to students of various skill levels
  • maintain safety and cleanliness standards
  • ensure food is cooked and served properly and hygienically
  • adjust teaching style to participant needs including adults, teens, beginners, and advanced students
  • multitask and monitor all kitchen activities
  • provide outstanding customer service
  • organize and secure kitchen equipment and inventory after class for cleaning crew
