Currently, CSCA is seeking a passionate and experienced part-time Chef Instructor to join their Recreational Program. This role is ideal for a culinary professional who combines exceptional cooking skills with a talent for teaching and top-tier customer service. The Chef Instructor will play a key role in helping students build confidence in the kitchen, expand their cooking repertoire, and enjoy a unique and fun culinary experience. This position involves instructing individuals, couples, or groups of friends in hands-on cooking classes that emphasize practical skills and enjoyment. Job Requirements
- Ability to lift 25 pounds
- ability to stand, kneel, sit, and walk for extended periods
- ability to handle and lift heavy kitchen equipment, chairs, and tables
- availability to work nights and weekends
- part-time, per diem availability
- willingness to wear CSCA approved uniform
- required background check clearance
Job Qualifications
- Culinary school graduate or minimum 5 years professional food service experience
- effective oral and written communication skills
- ability to pass a CORI background check
- demonstrated ability to teach culinary skills in a hands-on environment
- experience working with diverse student groups
- strong multitasking and organizational abilities
- customer service orientation
Job Duties
- Set up kitchen and lecture space and perform inventory check before class
- deliver up to 30 minutes of classroom lecture and 3.5 hours of hands-on cooking instruction
- provide direction and feedback to students of various skill levels
- maintain safety and cleanliness standards
- ensure food is cooked and served properly and hygienically
- adjust teaching style to participant needs including adults, teens, beginners, and advanced students
- multitask and monitor all kitchen activities
- provide outstanding customer service
- organize and secure kitchen equipment and inventory after class for cleaning crew
