The available full-time Chef position plays a vital role within ESS Support Services’ culinary team. This role involves directing, coordinating, and evaluating kitchen, food production, and food-service associates to maintain high standards of food quality and service. The position offers a full-time schedule of 28 days on and 14 days off, ideal for candidates seeking long rotations and focused time off. The pay range for this role is from $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, reflecting the importance of the position in delivering top-notch culinary experiences in remote and offshore settings.
In this role, the Chef supervises, coordinates, and actively participates in food preparation, cooking, and serving, ensuring all food handling, sanitation, and customer service standards are strictly adhered to. Managing kitchen staff is a critical element, including responsibilities such as interviewing, scheduling, payroll processing, training, performance reviews, counseling, and recommending disciplinary actions as necessary. The Chef is also accountable for preparing high-quality food items in accordance with standardized recipes, meeting production deadlines, managing portion controls, and maintaining serving temperatures to ensure optimal presentation and food safety.
Product management is another essential aspect of the Chef’s duties, involving the tracking of food usage, waste, and consumption, as well as ordering supplies to maintain appropriate inventory levels. The Chef receives and inspects all products and supplies, ensuring quality and quantity meet established standards. Maintaining a clean and sanitized workstation and equipment is imperative, with continuous upkeep during meal service to guarantee compliance with sanitation, safety, and production policies.
Additional responsibilities include helping select and develop recipes and menus that meet client expectations and dietary requirements. The Chef may also be called upon to perform other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success and efficiency of the kitchen operations. The position preferences candidates with prior offshore or remote site experience as well as culinary management expertise.
