Job Qualifications
- Associate degree or equivalent work experience with minimum three years of quantity restaurant or corporate dining experience
- Upscale culinary experience preferred
- Ability to interpret written instructions to ensure quality, volume, and food presentation
- Knowledge in food safety production, receiving, and storage practices
- High personal initiative and motivation
- Willingness to work as part of a team
- Commitment to customer service and enhancing customer experience
- Strong initiative and commitment to ongoing culinary growth
- Ability to perform essential physical requirements of the job
Job Duties
- Prepare a variety of menu items from scratch including soups, roasts, casseroles, sauces, vegetables, salads, sandwiches, and bakery items
- Use scratch cooking and baking techniques such as roasting, sauteing, grilling, steaming, proofing, and baking
- Research and test menu items to enhance food quality and wellness
- Observe safe food handling, ergonomic, and personal safety practices
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Operate and clean kitchen equipment following safety guidelines
- Support menu management through recipe adherence, inventory monitoring, and food ordering processes
- Communicate effectively with customers and servers regarding menu and food preparation
- In the absence of the Chef Team Leader, cover key responsibilities to ensure consistent food preparation and service
