Job Description

We are currently seeking an experienced cook with a strong background in high-end banquet service to join our dynamic culinary team. This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $26 to $34 per hour and plays a key role in supporting a variety of hospitality events. The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven culinary expertise, particularly in savory techniques such as saucier, meat fabrication, sous vide, flavor balance, knife skills, French fundamentals, and emulsions. This role demands the ability to follow precise directions to consistently deliver high-quality dishes and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

The responsibilities include efficiently setting up and breaking down assigned workstations, multitasking, prioritizing prep lists based on business needs, and operating industrial kitchen equipment like ovens, stoves, grills, steamers, mixers, slicers, and fryers. The cook will be expected to prepare ingredients accurately, portioning, chopping, weighing, and mixing as required. Preparing a diverse range of hot and cold dishes using multiple techniques is a regular duty, along with properly testing foods for doneness and preparing special meals or substitutions as necessary. The role also involves serving prepared foods in appropriate portions and on suitable wares.

Team members are expected to contribute actively to improving guest satisfaction and the employee experience. This includes maintaining strict adherence to food quality and safety standards, ensuring proper labeling, dating, and rotation of food products, and thoroughly cleaning and disinfecting kitchen areas and equipment. The role requires a strong sense of professionalism in uniform and personal appearance, as well as confidentiality regarding proprietary information and company assets.

Effective communication with guests and coworkers, addressing guest concerns, and supporting the team to meet common goals are essential components of this position. Physical requirements include the ability to move and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Flexibility and willingness to perform additional tasks to ensure operational success are vital. Job Duties

  • Efficient and accurate set-up and break down of assigned work station as directed
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a prep list based on business needs
  • Operate industrial ovens, stoves, grills, steamers, mixers, slicers and fryers to prepare foods
  • Precisely prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, weighing and mixing of ingredients
  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold foods using a number of techniques or as directed
  • Properly test foods to determine if they have been cooked sufficiently
  • Precisely prepare special meals or substitute items as directed
  • Serve prepared foods in proper portions onto proper wares as directed
