As a Cook at The Waterfront Beach Resort, you will play a critical role in maintaining the highest standards of food preparation and presentation. This role requires a dedicated professional who can prepare all food items accurately according to recipe cards and handling procedures, ensuring that every dish served is fresh, clean, and visually appetizing. You will be responsible for maintaining proper production levels, managing leftovers with correct labeling and storage, and ensuring all work areas and refrigerators are kept clean and orderly.
Your attention to detail and coordination skills will be crucial during peak business periods to expedite service effectively. Additionally, you will assist in menu creation and recipe development alongside the Executive Chef and other senior kitchen staff. You will also perform routine quality checks by tasting prepared dishes to maintain consistency in flavor and presentation. This position demands physical activity such as standing for long periods, frequent walking, lifting up to 50 pounds, and occasional crouching or bending, which requires stamina and a proactive attitude.

Job Qualifications
- Three to five years cooking experience
- prior hotel and restaurant cooking experience preferred
Job Duties
- Prepare all food items according to recipe cards and correct handling procedures
- maintain highest quality and appearance of all foods sent from kitchen
- maintain proper pars of production levels according to estimates
- use leftovers and maintain proper storage of leftovers
- label and date all food
- maintain clean and orderly refrigerators and work areas
- rotate all foods and correctly fill out production charts
- coordinate and expedite service during peak periods
- assist Executive Chef, Executive Sous Chef and Sous Chef in creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes
- perform other duties such as moving supplies and equipment and cleaning spills
- randomly taste prepared dishes to ensure quality
- inspect all food plates before serving
