Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three years' culinary experience in a luxury hotel or similar
  • Physical ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and stand/walk throughout shifts
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours in all kitchen areas
  • Ability to supervise and motivate a team independently
  • Knowledge of health and safety standards and documentation

Job Qualifications

  • Previous leadership experience or participation in a leadership development program
  • Minimum of three years' experience in a high volume luxury hotel or equivalent
  • Ability to run all kitchen functions in the absence of a Sous Chef
  • Experience expediting pass during service and ensuring quality control
  • Skilled in guiding cooks on proper preparation and presentation
  • Proficient in butchering meat, fish and poultry
  • Ability to train staff on station setup, cooking techniques and cleaning routines

Job Duties

  • Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
  • Adjusts recipes according to business volume
  • Maintains proper storage, rotation and handling of products
  • Checks quality and quantities on all kitchen stations and directs cooks to correct errors
  • Supports other kitchen stations during peak periods
  • Maintains walk-ins and common areas with organizational skills
  • Supervises cooks, provides training and motivation
  • Takes on leadership roles proactively and delegates tasks effectively
