The Chef de Partie at Whole Foods Market is an Assistant Team Leader (ATL) role focused on culinary excellence and delivering an exceptional hospitality experience on the retail floor within Prepared Foods. This leadership position is responsible for managing operational procedures, merchandising standards, maintaining optimum in-stock levels, and implementing core menu items across various food venues. These venues include the Chef's Case, Fresh Pack, Charcuterie, Rotisserie, Food and Soup Bars, as well as in-line service venues like pizza and sandwich counters. The role requires a passion for food quality, team motivation, and customer hospitality. As a key player within the retail floor team, the Chef de Partie will also collaborate closely with store leadership and regional culinary teams to drive sales initiatives, promotions, and execution of Prime Deals, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and presentation.
This role demands strong leadership capabilities to develop and mentor team members, fostering an environment of teamwork, respect, and high morale. The Chef de Partie will be instrumental in upholding Whole Foods Market's vision and culinary culture by communicating company goals clearly and promoting a passion for food both front and back of house. Job Requirements
- Minimum 18 months of combined professional hospitality or kitchen experience and culinary training
- Ability to teach and develop others constructively and positively
- Organized and systematic approach to work with aptitude to prioritize and delegate
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and motivational skills to build teams and customer relationships
- True passion for food
- Food safety certification or commitment to complete certification within six months
- Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays
- Strong technology skills including Microsoft Office
- Consistent and punctual

- Monitor and maintain in-stock levels
- Execute Prime deals, promotions and sales-driving initiatives
- Build strong partnerships and communication with store leadership and team buyers
- Prioritize production lists and ensure the highest standards for walk-in storage and signage compliance
- Oversee Prepared Foods catering order fulfillment
- Coordinate regional culinary tasting events
- Lead by example in promoting hospitality to guests
- Serve as culinary ambassador and elevate guests’ in-store experience
- Maintain awareness of customer flows and direct team members as necessary to satisfy customers
