Job Description

42 Bar and Table is a distinguished restaurant located within the Clinton Presidential Center, a prominent cultural and historical landmark in Little Rock, Arkansas. Operating seven days a week, 42 Bar and Table serves lunch daily with the addition of a special brunch service on Sundays. The restaurant is renowned for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship, boasting a remarkable 4.8 out of 5 rating on OpenTable and consistently earning 100 percent recommendations from guests. It has also been recognized as the best Business Lunch in the Soiree recommendations. This high standard of excellence is supported by the restaurant's dedication to creating everything from scratch, including unique offerings like homemade ice cream, which adds to the authenticity and appeal of the dining experience. The atmosphere is inviting and family-friendly, prioritizing superior hospitality that aims to deliver what they refer to as a "Presidential experience."

The Chef de Partie role at 42 Bar and Table is pivotal in maintaining the restaurant's esteemed reputation by ensuring an exceptional culinary experience. This position involves preparing and presenting menu selections meticulously according to standardized recipes and specifications. The role not only requires culinary skills but also a focus on maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of the kitchen environment, including all floors, equipment, workstations, and walls. A clean and sanitary kitchen plays a critical role in food safety and directly influences guest satisfaction and the operational success of both the restaurant and banquet services.

As Chef de Partie, the individual will be responsible for the preparation of restaurant and banquet foods, developing and producing daily specials, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations and internal procedures. The importance of food safety and quality cannot be overstated, as any misstep could lead to health concerns and negatively impact the foundation's reputation in the community. This role requires a commitment to upholding the highest standards of food quality and kitchen hygiene.

The position offers an estimated salary of $49,000 based on market rates in Little Rock. It is a salaried role with expectations to work varying shifts that may include nights, early mornings, weekends, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic nature of the hospitality industry. The Clinton Foundation, which oversees 42 Bar and Table, offers a generous benefits package aimed at supporting employees' well-being and satisfaction at little to no cost. Benefits include health insurance, paid time off, and other rewards that make this opportunity attractive for experienced culinary professionals.

Working at 42 Bar and Table also means being part of the larger mission of the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton Presidential Center. The Foundation, established by President Bill Clinton, is dedicated to delivering impactful programs that create economic opportunity, improve public health, and encourage civic engagement. The Presidential Center itself serves as a hub for this work, hosting the Clinton Presidential Library and Museum, educational initiatives, and the award-winning 42 Bar and Table restaurant. This setting provides a meaningful and enriching work environment that goes beyond hospitality, connecting employees to a larger purpose and a history of public service.
